The Saga Card

In this section:
Unit level tracking UI and Saga Cards

The Controlant Saga Card is an M2M device used with the Controlant Unit Level Tracking (ULT) solution to monitor perishable goods during transportation and storage in real-time. It allows users to prevent spoilage by providing detailed information about logistical operations and regional stock levels. The ULT solution is part of Controlant's Supply Chain Monitoring.

The Saga Card has a small form factor designed to fit into secondary medicine boxes. It is ultra-low-power by design and driven by a battery categorized as non-dangerous goods. The Saga Card provides location data and point-of-use events in the ULT platform that are essential for creating logistical and stock insights.

The data collected by the device is stored and then sent regularly to the cloud database using its internal cellular modem. The device utilizes LPWA technology to connect to the cellular network and collect location data. It is equipped with a flight mode that suspends cellular communication during flight. The Saga Card limits the accuracy of the location data it transmits to the Controlant cloud platform to ensure that the data collection complies with data protection and tracking legislation worldwide.

The Saga Card is activated with an NFC interface. It was designed with automation in mind, so no manual interaction is required during use.
